Framed Disneyland Attraction Poster Art

Hello, hello!  As some of you may know, I'm a Disneyland annual passholder.  They sent me a 2013 calendar earlier this year (I actually got 2 of them since I bought my nephew a pass too) and each month's picture is a different Disneyland attraction poster.  I'm a sucker for those attraction posters, especially the old-school, vintage ones, so I knew I could use these mini versions somehow.

I finally figured out how I was going to use them!
Trying to use what I already had, I decided to reuse a 28"x20" frame that was hanging in the guest room.   It was a framed black & white picture of a building in NYC.   I've had it for over 10 years and although I like it, it was time for something different.

I took the staples out of the calendar and using my paper cutter, I cut each picture out of it.  I also made sure to trim up the bottom edge to match the others.  Each picture ended up measuring 9"x6".

I was able to get 3 rows of 3 pictures to fit.  I just flipped the NYC building picture over and just used a tiny bit of tape to tape each picture in place so they don't move.  I also sorted them in a color gradient  from lightest to darkest just because I thought it looked good this way.

I'm still debating if this will go in the studio or the guest room, but for now it's home is in the studio until I make a final decision.  I just love how it came out.  It's exactly how I pictured it in my head.  I'm getting closer to finishing up the bathroom and studio, so hopefully I'll be sharing those within a couple of weeks.

  2. I got the same calendar, and thought about using it for something because I LOVE those posters too. Unfortunately, my kids loved it too and it got a little too well-loved for any projects. I love what you did with yours! Looks great!

    1. Thanks, Alexis! I really like the bigger-sized posters (like the ones you have in your DL vintage room), but I don't have enough wall space. lol So, this works out! :)

  4. I love this idea. A Cast Member gave me the same book a couple of weekends ago. I knew I wanted to frame them, but this is a much better idea than individual frames.
