Entryway Makeover

After painting my garage entry door and front entry door, I was inspired to makeover my entryway.   I'm very happy about how it turned out!

 Here is the BEFORE...

I affectionately called it my "super mini mudroom".  ;)  The hook rack I installed back then ended up being super functional for me, so I wanted to keep it.

This is how my gallery wall started out in that hallway.

This never really felt "right" to me, so I decided to change it up (I posted about it here and here).  This was done about 2 years or so ago.  What I like about this is that I can add onto it pretty easily and it doesn't have to be symmetrical or perfect.  In fact, I've even added on to it since this picture below.

With the new front entry door's windows,  I was worried about the door accidentally slamming into the hooks and possibly breaking windows, so I had planned on moving it eventually.  I did put in a door stopper on one of the hinges which helped greatly, but there was still always a chance of someone pushing the door open too hard.

Awhile ago, I had decided to eventually paint the hook rack.  I originally was going to paint it aqua, but decided to paint the first coat aqua, white on top, and then distress it a bit so the aqua showed through.

It's been moved the left of the front door now and I like it there much better now.

Also, for a long time, I felt that this area needed a mirror.  I found a cheap one at Walmart.

I taped off and papered the mirror so I could paint it white.  Turns out, I didn't have enough white spray paint, so I just used the Krylon satin nickel spray paint I had instead.  I decided to hang it where the hook rack was originally.

This is my view now when I walk inside the house from the garage.

And that's all that I did to makeover the entryway!  I just moved the hook rack and added a mirror.  I also moved a little table to the other side of the bench and put a plant and little aqua, glass bowl from Ikea for my keys on it.  I think it looks much, much better!
