Adventures in Gardening: Part 5

Succulents are supposed to be easy to take care of, right?  Somehow, I'm not good with plants and flowers.  Seems like the only ones that do well at my home are the ones that were already here.  I figured that succulents would be the best plants for me - plus I really like how they look.  I had planned in my head, that when I eventually revamp my backyard, I'll mostly have succulents or tropical type flowers back there.

Sometimes if I'm at Home Depot or Ikea, I'll pick up a succulent for the house.  As seen in this post, I managed to kill off a trio of succulents.  Oops - forgot - make that 4 of 'em.  Heh.  Last year when I was at Ikea, I found a really nice jade plant that I liked, so decided to try it.  Unfortunately, I don't have a "before" picture, but it was very nice and full and I loved the shade of green it was.  And it looked really good in the white Ikea plant pot that I had.

After almost a year, it decides to start dying on me.  Not sure why, but it just happened all of a sudden.  It even still had some baby leaves growing in.  But, this is what it looks like now.

So, so sad.  It's possible that I over-watered it, however I don't think I ever really gave it too much water - maybe it was just too much for this plant, though.  :(   I'm determined to make these succulents last!  I really want them in my landscaping in the backyard, but if I keep killing them, there's no point.  But, seriously - these are supposed to be the hardest plants to kill, yet I keep killing them.  Plant killer.  Ugh!

Thanks for stopping by!
