Fireplace Makeover - Sneak Peek

I've been working on a big-ish project for over a week.  I thought it would be done in one weekend, but well...I should know better.  Things don't always go according to plan.  I just wanted to give a quick sneak peek as Phase 2 of my fireplace revamp is almost complete.

Ooohhhh.....aaahhhh!  I'm very excited about this project and can't wait until it's completely done.  To give a recap:  last summer, I decided I was sick of looking at my fireplace.  The brick is old, dirty, and the mortar was crumbling off (not in big chunks - just enough to annoy me).  Because of this, the mantel was not smooth at all and made decorating it frustrating.  Phase 1 consisted of me spray painting the brass and handles.  Phase 2 (current phase) consists of me painting the fireplace.  Phase 3 will consist of me building a wood mantel.

I'm almost done with Phase 2 and will share more pics when it's completed.  I hope everyone had a great Easter - have a great week!

  3. Wow you sure have been busy. I love the jute wrapped vases and the cork initial. I'm going to try that. I want to come over and see your new fireplace when you'll all done. Keep up the good work. You are amazing.

  4. Chrissy, that turned out AweSome! You are one hand woman. It turned out beautiful, nice and fresh and bright. Don't ya just hate cables and cords? Uuugg, I do! It would be nice if you knew a electrician who can run them behind the TV down the inside of the wall and out to your outlet. It still looks really good. Good Job!
