Winter Blooms

While the rest of the country is getting hit hard with some major winter weather, here in Southern California, we're getting our first bout of cool weather in the last few weeks.

DIY T-shirt Re-fashion

I actually completed this a few months ago and never shared it.  Oopsie.  I've gotten a bit more into sewing and finally experimented with clothing!  I had signed up to do a charity walk for work.  For the team t-shirts, they only had men's sizes, so I decided to jazz mine up a bit and make it cute.  Spoiler:  I wasn't able to do the walk after all, so I gave the shirt to my boss to wear.  She was super excited and bragged to everyone that I made it.  Embarrassing. lol

Speaking of embarrassing, here's me modeling my newly re-fashioned shirt!

Valentine's Day Garland

I'm not big on decorating for holidays, except for Halloween & Christmas.  And even then, it's minimal.  My house isn't very big and I don't have room for a lot of "stuff" nor have the space to be storing "the stuff", so I try to keep it low-key.   But, when I was putting away the Christmas decorations a few weeks ago, I decided to be early & bring out my one Valentine's Day decoration - the Cork Heart that I made last year.

So, I put that out and decided to make a garland for the mantle as well.  I didn't take any pictures of the process as it was pretty easy.  I had some Ikea heart ornaments that I hadn't been using and strung them onto some red baker's twine from my stash.  I tied each heart onto the twine so they'd stay put.  And then hung it on my mantel with clear Command hooks.  Easy.

Fall Fun 2014

Hello!  I hope everyone's year is off to a good start!  Can you believe it's February already?  Did you catch the Superbowl?  Even though I wasn't rooting for either team, it was a pretty exciting game!

Anyhoo, I know we're already in the middle of winter, but I never shared pictures from all the fun happenings from the Fall (my favorite season).  So, here we go...

The Totally 80's Bar & Grille opened up right by my friend's house.  Since we *heart* 80s music, we went to opening night and it was a blast!  This place has become a popular spot.  They often host cover bands, but have even hosted some of the real deal like Missing Persons, ABC, Tiffany and Berlin is going to be playing there in April.  If you live in the Fullerton, CA area, go check them out! It's an awesome place (and yes, that's a Delorian, like the one in "Back to the Future".  It's the owner's car, so you'll see it parked out in front all the time).
